The fire is out of control! Nothing can be done! It’s have been burn 7 days, the cargo "all burned"! Many ship companies is vessel-sharing,eneral average has been declared!
Unfortunately, the ship will probably sink if everything is burned and the shipper will share the loss!!
Nearly seven days after the X-Press Pearl caught fire near Colombo, Sri Lanka, the situation continued to spiral out of control and rescuers admitted there was little they can do.

As can be seen from the picture , the fire has not been effectively controlled, and it is getting bigger and bigger, until it completely engulfed the ship and container cargo, and the ship may sink!
According to media reported that the owner of the ship has declared "X-Press Pearl" General Average (GA, General Average), cargo owners will share the loss .
In addition, the ship has a crew of 25, including Filipino, Chinese, Indian and Russian nationalities, One has since tested positive for Covid-19 and has been transferred to a special facility in a military hospital for further treatment.
There are 1,486 containers loaded with nitric acid, other chemicals and cosmetics.
Earlier, a Sri Lankan Air Force spokesman said the Sri Lankan Air Force has deployed Bell 212 helicopters to drop dry chemical powder on the X-Press Pearl to extinguish the fire. But as things stand, it's clearly not working!
For the moment, rescuers have done everything they can. There is nothing else they can do.
